I had to come up with something sweet and feminine and I wanted something other than white...so I embossed and used Regal Rose as the accent color. I do have to say, she was thrilled with them when i was finished. I can't believe she is old enough to make her 1st communion in a couple weeks!
I am not sure about you, but I have a "thing" for paper. It doesn't matter which brand, if I have too much, or if it matches anything I can think of at the time, if I like it...I NEED to buy it. I have gone so far as to ordering from SINGAPORE because I had seen paper in an older magazine that I really liked. I could only find that exact paper in Singapore. And believe me when I say, it was worth all the effort to find...and buy it...and have it shipped here. It actually wasn't bad in price at all. Are you paper obsessed, or a paper addict. I found this paper and I couldn't wait to use it. I am also intrigued by all of the paper now coming in different shapes, sizes...all matching. Of course I love my SU paper because it matches all the cardstock and takes out the guesswork, but if it is awesome patterned paper...I have to have it and will go at great lengths to find it. What was the craziest thing you did to have paper?

I did it again...made another ribbon wreath with different colored ribbons. I used floural wire (approximately 8-10in.) and created a ring. I then tied 6 in. ribbons (various Stampin' Up ribbons) throughout the whole wire ring (I kept it in a pattern to make it look more cohesive). I will be offering this class at our njcropweekends crop on May 20th at the Dolce, Basking Ridge. It makes a beautiful wall-hanging or gift for a friend.

I have designed the class to have samples from the Ocassion Mini (products can be ordered un to April 30th), products from the new Summer Mini (available for purchase May 1st), samples from Stampin' Up's latest promomtion (spend $20 and have the opportunity to purchase a stamp set or paper...or both...from the new catalog coming in out in July), Big Shot emossing folders...and some new techiniques. There are so many ways to get a bunch of photos on a page. I decided that I wanted to show a different way to do it. Collage style is one...
We all know that we take many more pictures than we really need to. Many more than we did when we had "film" cameras. Why not, we can just delete the photos we don't think came out ok. Let's be honest...how many do we really delete? I found that I am taking less photos, trying to get the right one the first time, or the second. My suggestion; find time to sit with your pictures...before you print them all, and figure out which pictures you really want to keep. Tell a story with the ones that are the best...then scrap the pictures that are the best. I took about 50 pictures of Ryan's last day of pre-school. Although, I was so afraid to only use 9 of them, I feel I captured the day perfectly. I will never forget how I felt watching my little boy, moving on and away from pre-school. i can look at his little face in these pictures and still feel what I felt that day. Innocence at its best!
Here are pictures from last weekend's Mother and Daughter Card Class. We had some mom's and their daughters and some grandmas and their grand-daughters. The cards were a little on the difficult side, but they all did a wonderful job...even my little Abby and Julia made a card with a little help from me. Some of the cards included a punched art bunny, embossing, "the quilted" look...and coloring. There are some samples here. Everyone went home with a "favor" and a lollipop flower from the centerpieces. I can't wait to do another class like this! Click on the images to make them bigger.
