Ok, now that the summer is here, school is over, activities are done for the year...I can relax.
Over the last couple weeks, I have read some increadible books. But, sadly to say, two of them had a common theme...death of a parent, specifically, a mother. I will admit that there are times I wonder what my family would do if something happened to me. How would my husband know what needs to be done each day before school, who will be around for all the kids activities...etc. Not a great thought, but one to think about.
I have read blogs and articles about scrapping yourself and making sure you leave a legacy. The one thing I have always said, and I am sure most of you out there have thought this, you are the photographer...getting the right shots to scrapbook. Well, I am here to say that I will continue to be the photographer...but I will think about handing that camera over to someone else so I can get in the shot and activities, as well. While I was reading, believe it or not, the common thing that was talked about, was, the fact that there were no pictures of the mom...or at least, not many. So I vow, from this day forward, not to crop me out of of pictures because I look horrible in the shot...or I haven't gotten the kids enough. I want to be seen and I want my kids to look back and say "hey, I remember when mom did that" (of course 50 years from now).
So I hope that you think twice too, about getting yourself in more pictures. Hand that camera over and stop cropping yourself out. It doesn't matter what you look like, it is the concept that matters. Someday, you will thank yourself and everyone else around you will thank you, for letting them remember you!
So with that being said...here are my beautiful daughters from their recital a couple weekends ago...and me, surrounded by my "tiny toes" class, even though one of the girls is cutting my face off with her head!!!!
