It's a snowy day 15 in the Cagnassola house

Building a snowman is fun in my house...I made these, after I saw samples on Splitcoast, by Lisa Ann (I just need to add earmuffs), but they were actually really fun to make.  They will be filled with surprises for gifts for my friends this year.

16 days, crafty day at the Cagnassola's!!

Crafts are always being done at the Cagnassola house...so the kids couldn't wait to do the kits for the gingerbread houses...we did the two little ones today and the BIG houses will be done another day.  Here are the crafty kids at work.

17 days...really?

I know it is the holiday season...and we are counting down the days until Christmas, but I wanted to share the cards I made for my little girl's birthday party.  Since their birthday is New Year's Eve, we need to think about Christmas and birthday for them.  Since they started pre-school this year, we decided it was time for them to have their first "real" birthday party with friends.  They helped me pick out the stamp set, the paper, and where it was going to be be (although I persuaded them towards specific ideas...lol).  Here is the invite that went out this week! (If you can see, I made an error on the printing, of the date, but they were all printed out and didn't want to re-do them, I still think they look cute). 

I used the big Thank You cupcake, stamped the back of the paper for the bottom (since there is printing on the stamp that I didn't want to show), cut out the tops, cut out the cherry with glitter paper, added green "stickles" to the sprinkles, crimped the cupcake bottom...and put it all together!

18 days...my silly kids make christmas what is it!!!

I had to do it, give them silly headbands and let them act like themselves, and I had the camera snapping away.  They thought,when I asked them to sit in front of the tree, that I would make them do a cute, serious picture....but when I said, "do whatever you want"....they went crazy.  So much fun!!!

Let them decorate, then re-decorate, and re-decorate again!!!

A fun thing for the kids to do, seems to be re-decorate eveything in the house.  I can't tell you how many times I have found the girls, re-decorating the Christmas tree.  One day I will have one of those BIG BEAUTIFUL christmas trees that have all the same matching ornaments that belong in a Martha Stewart magazine...but for now, the Charlie Brown Christmas tree that is filled with love, will have to do  :)!!!

"Where is your focus", 20 days until...

Photography tip...where is your focus?  If you look into a lens of a camera, you will usually see a "box" or area where your main focus is.  If you pu your "box" over the place you want to be the clearest, and zoom in, you will be able to get a crystal clear image where you want it....and blur out the rest.  I was determined to get the shie on one of the christmas lights (well fake ones) and see what happens.  The blurr wasn't as good as I had hoped, but the picture came out better than I thought it would (I had limited light where I was).  Play around with your camera this season...there is so much color, during the holidays, amid the dreary winter! 

 

Christmas is coming in 21 days

Using Christmas paper to make an every day 12 x 12 layout.  I used the Christmas Lodge paper, scraps, to create the little squares below the pictures (I used some of these same squares in the ornaments above)...These pictures were taken of the girls, WOW, 3 years ago, during the spring.  Well, that is not spring paper.  I have decided that most of my holiday pictures and vacaions pictures will be put into a digital album...too many pictures and I will never get caught up...so I need to use all my holiday/Christmas paper for something.  Don't be afraid to thing "outisde the box"!

Missed a day already, but here it is, day 22!

Do you know how easy this was to make?  All you need are some small squares of paper.  You fold down the two corners to meet in the center...apply them to piece of paper (a circle) with the points all meeting in the center.  Use Tombo glue to stick it down onto the circle.   Complete the circle (I used 9 squares to complete this circle.  I added a felt embellishment to the center (to hide the flaws...lol) and added the "bling" around the embellishment!  Add a piece of ribbon to the top...and there you have it, a beautiful paper ornament!

A new card I created.  It turned out a lot more work than I had wanted, but every time I did something, I added something else...isn't that usually how it turns out!  Stay tuned, some of my favorite people will be getting these cards this year
