I read a post on Pinterest and saw a picture from someone who said "take a picture of your daughter in your wedding dress, while they are little, save those pictures, and blow them up for the day they get married". So I did it. I will be scrapping these at our scrappin' weekend, next weekend. But I look at my little girls and don't want to think about them getting married.
ps. Kaileigh was at school today when I did the photo session, but I will be taking her pictures later tonight.
Photo tip:
Don't like the color of the walls, the background...turn it into black and white. Absolutely amazing my little girl. I LOVE YOU!
Here is a picture of my baby girl, as a child in the Nutcracker. She has dress rehearsal for hours today and tomorrow...and her first performance on Fri. She is so beautiful!
Photography tip...where is your focus? If you look into a lens of a camera, you will usually see a "box" or area where your main focus is. If you pu your "box" over the place you want to be the clearest, and zoom in, you will be able to get a crystal clear image where you want it....and blur out the rest. I was determined to get the shie on one of the christmas lights (well fake ones) and see what happens. The blurr wasn't as good as I had hoped, but the picture came out better than I thought it would (I had limited light where I was). Play around with your camera this season...there is so much color, during the holidays, amid the dreary winter!

take those favorite scrapbook or stamping products and get in close. You can get the coolest pictures from the colors, shopes, and texture! Try it the next time you have your camera out to play~
Not my favorite...but it taught me how to set my timer on my camera. this was my "assignment" for the week. I took so many shots of myself. As everyone, sooooo critical of what I see. But as I turn, uh, "39" next week...I figured I would show "myself" as I am. Here is the shot I picked.
Hello there, my friends. It has been a while. I am trying to re-organize and simplify my life. I ripped apart my scrap room...and the fun began. I think I now have a great space to re-start everything.
To start it off, my dear friend, Heidi, gave me a wonderful birthday present. She signed me up for an online photo "class" or should I say challenge, for me any way...but it is getting me to LOVE my camera again. For my first assignment, I got up this morning, early and took Abby outside to shoot some photos. Here is one I took...

This past weekend, I decided that I wanted to create a page that was designed for the "looker's" eyes to go directly to the photos, not the whole page or the embellishments. I wanted to page to be simple and beautiful at the same time. What is wonderful about being with artistic friends at a crop, is the ability to pose problems and see if anyone can offer advice. I was stuck. I needed a one word title. So I held up my photos and asked all my friends around me to come up with one word to describe the pictures. I got a lot of good suggestions, but one in particular was perfect....thanks Heidi. This page is designed to focus on the pictures and the pictures were taken to focus on "depth of field" which in other words..."focus". Perfection!
There are so many ways to get a bunch of photos on a page. I decided that I wanted to show a different way to do it. Collage style is one...
We all know that we take many more pictures than we really need to. Many more than we did when we had "film" cameras. Why not, we can just delete the photos we don't think came out ok. Let's be honest...how many do we really delete? I found that I am taking less photos, trying to get the right one the first time, or the second. My suggestion; find time to sit with your pictures...before you print them all, and figure out which pictures you really want to keep. Tell a story with the ones that are the best...then scrap the pictures that are the best. I took about 50 pictures of Ryan's last day of pre-school. Although, I was so afraid to only use 9 of them, I feel I captured the day perfectly. I will never forget how I felt watching my little boy, moving on and away from pre-school. i can look at his little face in these pictures and still feel what I felt that day. Innocence at its best!
