Stamping and Scrapping is my passion, photography is a hobby, teaching dance and music is my career, healthy eating and feeling good is my way desire, being spiritually centered is my dream, and being wife and mom of 4, is my life!
Of my weekend away...a couple friends of mine will be going away for a weekend of scrapbooking...here are a couple of my favorites from the last scrapbook weekend! Check back throughout the weekend, hoping to get some more on here!
Ok, so not as big as they used to be, need to cut on spending, but my new SU stuff from the new ocassion mini catalog and Sale-a-bration catalog, arrived yesterday...and I played today, for my class next week...here are a couple.
This one is a sale-a-bration stamp set made with a lotus flower! LOVE IT! I used the new Project Life corner rounder to "round" my squares!
This one is odd-shaped, but I loved coloring the image to make it look beautiful! THis is from the new mini ocassion catalog!
If you want to try these cards, see some new things, come to my class, next Wed. night January 14, 2015, at my home studion, at 7PM!
I have been wanting to use this stamp set since I got it 9 months ago...I finally sat down to play...and this will one of the cards we will be making next Friday night...but I need to add a special something to it...I jusy haven't gotten it yet...I plan to add a stirrer to the opening in the cup. Stay tuned for the full finished product. Those of you who haven't decided to sign up for the class yet, make sure it you do it soon!
Thanks to the samples on Pinterest from "My Chic 'n' scratch", I was able to reproduce these pencils and I will be having my customers make their own at my "Sale-a-bration" Chocolate Fondue, Mystery Hostess (yes all in one), party on Friday night.
All you need is some DSP, the new fringe scissors by Stampin' Up, some double siged tape, and washi tape (oh, and a pencil)...and you get these cute products...
I wanted to share some of my goals...things I have been keeping for the past week....that I have made into a list...time for myself, #9...means time for my blog and paper crafting...so here it is
My 2014 Goals or Thoughts
This is the first year, ever, that I am not concerned about losing weight. It is more about being healthy.
I don’t want to just “be happy”. I want to make each moment count. Life is not a race. You never know when the finish line will come.
Accept the “good and the bad”. Life is full of ups and downs. If we didn’t have some downs we wouldn’t know how to appreciate the ups. As, long as the ups outweigh the downs, then we are ok.
Family needs to be the center of my life. If the family stays in the center, everything else will fall into place.
Believe in my God. He will help me through all the tough times. I need to remember this.
I do not need to care what other people say about me or think about me. If it is important to care enough about, they would say it to me, rather than behind my back.
Volunteer because I want to or because I feel it is important. Not because I can’t say no. I need to pick and choose what is important to me or my kids…or my family. I cannot make up for everyone who does not volunteer… but I need to decide what can make a difference in my life or someone else’s.
My children need to learn to be more independent and take responsibility for their words, their actions, and their belongings. I can’t do it all for them anymore. They will be stronger people in the long run.
I need to take time out for myself , EVERYDAY, because if I don’t, I will not be a good mom, wife, or person. Sometimes it has to be “all about me”, even of for 15 minutes a day.
Money is important to live and survive in this world we live in. Being RICH is a dream. Being able to survive on a daily basis is a goal. Life isn’t about having more money than we know what to do with…just trying to live and be happy with what we have, is.
Being positive and staying positive is one important way to be healthy. Healthy in spirit and mind is as important as in body. I need to flush out negativity in my life and try to find the positive in all situations.
I want my children to respect me. Not because they have to, but because they admire the person I am and they see positive qualities in me that they want to have in themselves. I want them to feel that I am a decent person, with positive values, goals, and morals.
I want to stop living with regret. I want to stop looking back because I can’t change the past. I can only move forward, learn from my past, and hope to not make the same mistakes I have made, again.
My house is far from perfect, It is messy and sometimes, even dirty. But I want to live in a house where we have made memories, where we have “lived in”, and loved.
Sometimes I wish there was a “transfer” option in Steve’s business, his job that would force us into a “change. With that not happening, maybe we need to make some changes, just because they are the right thing to do,
I just want happiness to be a focus each and every day. I want to appreciate that I have woken up another day, given another day to live, and another day to prove to my family that life is good.
I will keep adding to this whenever something else comes to mind….2014 is in the works…and so is my life.
Let me just start by saying that I have missed blogging. The scrapbook Page I am about to post, says it all....I love being a mom...but life has definitely gotten in the way, in the last 8 months. It all started with my computer dying, I had to wait at least 3 months to have it fixed. All I had to connect me to the computer world, was my iphone...and I couldn't figure out how to post on my blog.
Some people may say blogging about scrapbooking or paper crafting, is silly. But for me, it is about passion, it is about creativity, it is about love. I have started working more, taken on more than I can handle and my crafting has suffered. I have missed the feel of paper, I have missed coloring and using ribbon. I took a look at my craft space, this week and almost cried. I had a class in late Aug. and I have yet to clean off the table completely, from that class. I haven't organized or purchased anything new. I haven't spent any time, being me.
So this year, one of my goals is to get organized (since I am afraid I have lost my ability to craft), figure out where to begin again...and just get my head in the game.
I have a crop on January 11th, and a weekend retreat Feb. 28 - March 2. I plan to start organizing this Fri,. spending a couple hours, cleaning my space. We all have to start somewhere.
I have missed all of you...and hope you check back to see my progress.
March 1-3 can't come soon emough. It is sad to say that life gets in the way....and the only time I scrapbook is when I go away....and now, we only do it twice a year. Here is one page I did last crop...
I spent all my free time today, which was not a lot, making some things for our PTA's Holiday Shoppe this Wed. night. I was only planning to sell some of my cards...but then I thought "wow, how cute would it be to have some of my mini purses there". Well, after making 5 of them, I am exhausted! I made about 50 cards and 5 mini purses, in between 8 loads of laundry, cleaning and scrubbing the kitchen, getting the girls to and from school, making photo copies to go home, at the school, ran to Kohls so I could use my 25% off on some gifts....and now I am ready for bed!!! I can't wait to put my head on the pillow!!
I wanted to share a couple of the cards that I created for my 2nd Christmas Card class. Unfortunately, I tried to have this class last week, and Hurricane Sandy hit our area...and hard. So I re-scheduled it for tonight...and again, a Nor'Eater is on its way. We still have so much damage all around, I hope this doesn't hit as hard as they say....so here are the cards. Maybe 3 times the charm....next Wed. November 14th I will finally get to share what I created....
I used the new Merry Minis stam set, along with the new matching punch. I LOVE the little lightbulbs that I strung along, just on a piece of Whisper White. But I punched three of the bulbs and I popped them up with Stampin' Dimensionals...then I added dazzling details glitter glue to make them shine!
With this card, I used the beautifull ne set in the Holiday Mini catalog "Watercolor Winter". I took one small stamp from the set and created a "tree" by using two step stamping. Some branches look farther away then others....then I added some dazzling details to the branches. I also used the new taffeta ribbon to make a big bow on the bottome of the card. See also, the mini Merry Christmas stamp and how I missed the end of the card...oops.
